Robert Margouleff built this…monster, there is no other word for it, really, around 1970-1971. Anyone who installed this into their studio would need, well, a bigger studio for one. Other modular systems are full of mismatched bits and pieces that can often be seen as dozens of individual instruments plugged together but this system is calibrated to work with each other as a very large whole. Remarkably, quite a few artists have used it (and who knows, maybe even held a conversation with it).
