Numbers, Optimo Music and Rubadub to feature in Glasgow debut for the hugely popular Independent Label Market.
Following the success of this summer’s London event, The Vinyl Factory and Independent Label Market are excited to announce their first ever Glasgow event, bringing together the finest Scottish record labels for a day of market-style record trading.
Set to feature the likes of Numbers, Optimo Music, AED, Chemikal Underground and Lucky Me, as well as iconic Glasgow record shop Rubadub among many others, the market will give label heads the unique opportunity to sell their newest releases, limited editions and merchandise directly to the public.
Taking place on Saturday 12th October at Barras Art & Design Centre, the Glasgow market will also feature live DJ performances from a broad range of artists represented by the labels on show, from pioneers of Glasgow’s electronic underground Numbers and Optimo Music’s JD Twitch to much-loved local acts Belle and Sebastian and Edwyn Collins.
The Vinyl Factory will be there once again to man a stall, with established labels rubbing shoulders with fledgling imprints for what has become a fixture in the independent music calendar and a timely reminder in an increasingly digital age that music retail can still be a social affair.
Since launching in London in 2011, Independent Label Market have also orchestrated events in LA and Toronto, with Glasgow the latest city to have its independent scene celebrated by this unique event.
