McFarlane has been a fixture of Gilles Peterson’s label since releasing her Chiaroscuro // Night & Day 10” in 2011.
Produced by drummer Moses Boyd, the soulful LP sees McFarlane working with a heavy line-up of musicians in London’s vibrant jazz scene, including “an unusually restrained turn on clarinet from Shabaka Hutchings. From US hard bop jazz, to dub and London-rooted hybrids and permutations, the band on Arise reflect the musical diversity of their home.”
Arise is out on 29th September 2017. Pre-order a copy now from her bandcamp.
