Luanda meets Lisbon’s underground.

Nídia is releasing a new album, Não Fales Nela Que A Mentes, alongside a 7” – called Badjuda Sukulbembe – via Príncipe this May.

Exploring Nídia’s “rich and emotive take on much loved afro styles,” the album’s 10-tracks draw on elements of Angolan kuduro and tarraxo – an evolution of Angolan tarraxinha and kuduro championed in Lisbon’s underground scene.

Nídia first debuted on Príncipe in 2015 with her Danger 12″, and has since remained a mainstay of the label alongside contemporaries like DJ Nigga Fox and DJ Lilocox.

Não Fales Nela Que A Mentes and Badjuda Sukulbembe follow the release of Nídia’s last album, Nídia É Má, Nídia É Fudida, in 2017.
