Dam Swindle’s Lars and Maarten play a house and boogie special from their Amsterdam HQ – celebrating their record furniture collaboration with Robuust Amsterdam.nt

“We started off with some feel good boogie, African disco and moved on into crossover proto-house and jazzy deep house for the last bit.

This is a mix of 7”s and 12”s that we’ve collected throughout the years, with a few of our recent finds from Rush Hour and Phonica too. Some of these tracks are classics from our all-night sets where we change tempo and energy a bit, and some are just records that needed to be played again after all this time of zero clubbing in the Netherlands.

The selection is a combination of songs you’d love to hear during the warmup of a club night, or at home to get in a good mood. They’re songs that put a smile on your face, whether that’s because of a sultry vocal, quirky instrumentation, or just a really good groove.

It’s tied to the release of the furniture collection we’ve developed together with our friends from interior design agency Robuust Amsterdam. The booth, the vinyl frames in the background, and the record cube on the side are the key items of the Minimalist Living | Maximum Volume collection that we’ve just launched.

The stream was recorded at Lars’ place in Amsterdam. We both have a prototype of Booth 01 from the collection, and that is what we recorded this mix on. Lars’ old Technics are still doing the job after 20+ years, and we’ve used our Condesa Carmen rotary mixer, because this mixer comes with us everywhere we play.

Thanks to Moodymann for slipping that record in our bag as a gift a while back, and thanks Snoop Dogg for being the legend that he is and sticking those verses on that track.”
