Returning for the fourth set of Charlie Dark’s weekly Wednesday afternoon show – Have Box Will Travel – the Run Dem Crew founder, community leader, activist, poet, DJ and Attica Blues member delves into his mighty collection.

“Switching things up this week as we travel into the soul and funk 45s of my collection and the discovery of a long forgotten box. My collection used to be immaculately catalogued, but its grown to the point where I can’t keep up with the location of everything so it’s always a welcome surprise when I find some records I’ve forgotten about. In some ways, it reminds me of digging through my own personal record shop which I guess is a childhood dream come true.

As always, we commence with some dancehall numbers to get the people moving before delving into some tracks that I’ve been playing in my house to keep the spirits up during the lockdown – tracks that remind me of both my early raving days and my deep digging days on my DJ travels. It’s important during these times of separation that we hold onto our happy memories and use them as medicine until we are allowed to gather again.”
