Step 7: Sell your records, but be clever about it
Matt: If you’re a record label it’s no longer about just about being a record label and saying we make these records and sell them to distributors, you’ve got to be really clever about how you use the internet, which is the discovery tool for most people. So if you can make sure that your version of the release is front and centre and the first one to be found you’ll get more sales, so you really have to understand how the internet works. I think streaming definitely cuts into physical sales no matter how you look at it.
