His “country-and-western-album” – unearthed by Light in the Attic.

Leo Nocentelli early 1970s album Another Side is being released for the first time, via Light In The Attic this November.

Recorded at Cosimo Matassa’s Jazz City Studio in New Orleans, Another Side saw Nocentelli take a more acoustic and introspective approach than his work with funk outfit The Meters.

The album features nine original songs by Nocentelli, plus a cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’.

While the album was recorded across 1971, it remained untouched for decades, only to be discovered in Southern California record sale in 2018 by collector Mike Nishita.

Another Side follows Light in the Attic’s compilation of ’70s-’80s country funk — Country Funk Volume III (1975-1982).
