It will be her first release in seven years.

PJ Harvey will release her 10th studio album via Partisan Records on July 7.

I Inside the Old Year Dying is Harvey’s first album in seven years, following The Hope Six Demolition Project back in 2016.

Hear the first track from the release, “A Child’s Question, August”, below.

The album was produced by Harvey’s regular collaborators Flood and John Parish and its songs were written across a period of “about three weeks”.

“I think the album is about searching, looking—the intensity of first love, and seeking meaning,” Harvey explains. “Not that there has to be a message, but the feeling I get from the record is one of love—it’s tinged with sadness and loss, but it’s loving. I think that’s what makes it feel so welcoming: so open.”

I Inside the Old Year Dying will be available on 140g black vinyl, accompanied by a gatefold jacket and lyric booklet. You can pre-order it now.
