Electro funk meets DIY aesthetics, drum machines, and hip-hop.

Minoru ‘Hoodoo’ Fushimi’s debut album, Thanatos Of Funk, is being reissued on vinyl for the first time this May, courtesy of 180g.

Fushimi produced and recorded the album himself across 1985, piecing it together in studio sessions outside of his day job as a high-school teacher.

Across Thanatos Of Funk, he combines electro funk with synths, drum machines, and hip-hop elements.

Now returning to vinyl for the first time since its original release, 180g’s reissue includes Fushimi’s original hand-written comic.

It follows 180g x Disk Union’s release of musician and singer-songwriter Jennifer Souza’s Pacífica Pedra Branca album in March.
