Exploring the UK’s geopolitical position through sound.

British artist and writer GAIKA is releasing his War Island soundtrack on vinyl, via The Spectacular Empire this April.

War Island was originally composed to soundtrack his installation of the same name as part of Nine Nights’ exhibition Channel B at London’s ICA.

War Island is the story of a braggadocios gravel-throated drinker lost in former glories and failed romances. The last man in this pub telling anyone who will listen tales from another time, oblivious to his own demise”

War Island, like the country it chooses to satirise in its title, is a concept record bereft of moral compass in its leadership.”

It follows GAIKA’s last full-length, Seguridad, on NAAFI.
