In its heyday during the ’80s and ’90s.

The Story of The Face: The Magazine That Changed Culture, a new book by Paul Gorman, uncovers the history of seminal UK youth culture magazine The Face.

Noteworthy for the way the publication transcended music and arts coverage of the time to take a deeper look at youth culture, the book investigates The Face’s rise and fall in two parts.

First, showcasing its highs under Editor Nick Logan, alongside Neville Brody’s graphic design and Nick Knight’s fashion photography. Then detailing how the imprint coped in the wake of a lawsuit that nearly shuttered its doors for ever.

It features The Face’s most famous covers and stories from the magazine’s 20-year run, interviews, as well as an introduction by Dylan Jones.

The Story of The Face: The Magazine That Changed Culture is published on the 16th November 2017, via Thames and Hudson. Pre-order a copy here.
