High-end audio maker Burmester is celbrating its 40th anniversary with the release of its first ever turntable, the Burmester 175.

A sizable beast that comes with tonearm, cartridge, power supply and phono stage built-in – all made in-house – the Burmester 175 sits on three magnetically isolated feet and is powered by four motors that sit around the sub-platter and use multiple belts for an even pull.

Clad in metal, the turntable boasts a platter made of sandwiched brass and aluminium, with bitumen abetting the anti-resonance of the system. The whole thing weighs a hefty 60kg and is built to last. Expected to be priced at around €30,000, you’d hope so.
