Carnival re-up.

The one-time face of Guinness Extra Cold, Lee “Scratch” Perry knows as well as anyone that good things come to those who wait. Over thirty years since its original release Scratch & Company’s The Upsetters: Chapter 1 is set for a deluxe box set reissue. Standing out from astral messenger’s prolific discography, The Upsetters: Chapter 1 is as influential a dub masterpiece as you’ll find, replete with booming bass, echoing vocals and a healthy dose of Perry’s unique world view.

The heavyweight reissue, out now on ClockTower Records sees the 1981 original split over three coloured 10″ discs, housed in a hardback box set with a magnetic clasp. Click here to order.

This time last week, we were gearing up for London’s Notting Hill Carnival, and you can read up on the 20 best reggae 7″s, featuring the odd Scratch single, here.
