“Now you can hear Miles Davis with your molars and The Cure with your canines.”

Science educator Sam Haynor has created a new way of listening to records… with your teeth.

By attaching needle to a wooden skewer and biting down, vibrations travel up into the teeth and jaw, which apparently allows the music to resonate inside your head.

Haynor also provides instructions for how to effectively make your own turntable with a pencil and some cardboard.

As he puts it: “never before have record stores and dentistry been so tightly linked. Toothfully, you just have to try it.”

Head here to check out Haynor’s full list of instructions.

If you’re looking for a more conventional way to listen to your record collection, here’s a list of some of our favourite cartirdges and turntables.
