No Ghost is the debut EP on LUCKYME® from singer, songwriter and supermodel Soo Joo Park, who rose to prominence through the last decade fronting multiple Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and W Magazine worldwide covers.

With the No Ghost EP, Soo Joo is reintroducing herself as an artist on her own terms. Written over the last two years, these five tracks are tied together through a feeling of reinvention and liberation. New single ‘Take It Off’ is a perfect summation of the EP’s ethos, as Soo Joo explores wanting to free herself of external factors and bare her soul atop haunting electronics.

Soo Joo shares of the new single: “All your thoughts, experiences, feelings, they add a layer to your soul and make you who you are. But do you ever feel tired of being burdened by your consciousness? Have you ever wished you can just strip off being in your own skin for a moment? I was having a conversation about living too much in my head as we wrote this. Then I thought, why not make it lighter by composing a dancey track to it?”

During the creation of No Ghost, Soo Joo toyed with the fluidity of genre, creating an amalgamation of her specific yet expansive taste in music: country pop from the 50s, girl groups of the 60s, ambient Japanese music from the late 90s/early oughts, and ran it all through a filter of shoegaze. On the surface, the five tracks are all songs of love or loss, but as a collective concept, Soo Joo’s intention with No Ghost was to capture all the feelings and emotions that come when trying new things in life.

The EP also features the Hudson Mohawke collaboration ‘Running Water’, which Soo Joo shared last year in tandem with her first cover feature in Dazed Korea, and was included in EA Sports’ iconic soundtrack for FC24 (fka FIFA). Alongside Mohawke, Soo Joo also collaborated with Eli Keszler, Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foals), Roidaidh MacDonald (The xx, King Krule, Sampha, Beck) and S-Type on the project.
