The singer, songwriter and supermodel explores reinvention on her debut.

The Vinyl Factory has launched pre-orders for No Ghost, the debut EP from Soo Joo Park.

Released in collaboration with LUCKYME®, No Ghost sees the singer, songwriter and supermodel, who rose to prominence through the last decade fronting multiple Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and W Magazine worldwide covers, reintroduce herself.

Having written the EP over the last two years, Soo Joo explores reinvention and liberation through her music.

Commenting on the lead single “Take It Off”, Soo Joo explains: “All your thoughts, experiences, feelings, they add a layer to your soul and make you who you are. But do you ever feel tired of being burdened by your consciousness? Have you ever wished you can just strip off being in your own skin for a moment? I was having a conversation about living too much in my head as we wrote this. Then I thought, why not make it lighter by composing a dancey track to it?”.

During the creation of No Ghost, Soo Joo toyed with the fluidity of genre, creating an amalgamation of her influences: country pop from the 50s, girl groups of the 60s, ambient Japanese music from the late 90s/early oughts – all through the filter of shoegaze. Soo Joo’s intention with No Ghost was to capture all the feelings and emotions that come when trying new things in life.

No Ghost also contains a plethora of collaborators including Hudson Mohawke, Eli Keszler, Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Foals), Roidaidh MacDonald (The xx, King Krule, Sampha, Beck) and S-Type.

Released on February 14 and available to pre-order now, No Ghost has been pressed on transparent blue 180g vinyl, and features hand-numbered sleeves designed by M/M as well as an artwork poster. The record is limited to 300 copies.
