The music that influences the immersive theatre company.
“We’re here to keep the talking to a minimum because we’re here to listen and to share the sound and sound history of Punchdrunk. It’s the inspirations and influences from before Punchdrunk even existed”.
Felix Barrett and Stephen Dobbie of immersive theatre company Punchdrunk (responsible for The Burnt City, Viola’s Room and many more beloved productions) joined us at Devon Turnbull’s Listening Room in 180 Studios to share the music that’s influenced the sound of Punchdrunk’s work.
From atmospheric scores to vintage soul, we’re granted an insight into what informs and shapes the sound of Punchdrunk’s immersive audio palette.
Last year, The Vinyl Factory released the original soundtrack to Punchdrunk’s The Burnt City on vinyl – marking the first time that a soundtrack from a Punchdrunk show was available for audiences to listen to at home. Order a copy now.

You can also listen to Charlie Dark’s session on Afrobeat and highlife, The Blessed Madonna on rave and Eliza Rose on Black British dance music.
