How long have you been collecting for?
Over ten years. In 2006, I started living on my own and wanted a record player, so I could listen to the records that my parents used play. My mum and I went to a thrift shop, and bought the Sony PS-LX-45 for €10. In 2015, my boyfriend Pieter and I bought our first high-end set up. Big investment, but so worthy.
What part of your set-up are you most proud of?
My turntable. I love the simplicity of it. The white wooden board and black tonearm give it a clean look. It also looks very nice with the white B&Ws.
What record(s) are you most proud of?
Pearl Jam’s No Code – it’s the original LP from 1996. I bought it in a record store in Gent, Belgium. Such a great album and artwork. They rereleased it last year for the second time, now we can all enjoy this beautiful record.
What does your record collection mean to you?
A lot. Every single record has it own story. They remind me of my childhood, festivals, holidays.. Even if its a record that reminds me of times when I was upset, I still love it.
