Looking for new records in a hurry?
British label Timehri has unveiled a “dig assistant” tool for use with Discogs.

The Timehri Dig Assistant uses a machine-learning model to recommend records on Discogs. To use the tool, the user must enter the URL for a record and the software will generate up to six recommendations.
Timehri clarifies that the results are “algorithmic and do not explicitly reflect the preferences of Timehri Records”. The results of the tool are limited to records released before January 2022 and are “specific to electronic vinyl music”. Some of the genres included are house, techno, jungle, UK garage and grime.
We ran Burial’s 2007 release Untrue through the dig tool to test it. The recommendations included Logos’ Cold Mission, Ikonika’s Ikonoklast and Sorrow’s Carpe Noctem.
