“No regrets. She is at peace…”

Singer Julee Cruise – known for her work with David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti – has died, aged 65.

Born in Creston, Iowa, Cruise later moved to New York City to work as a singer and actress.

While in NYC she met composer Angelo Badalamenti in a theatre workshop he produced. The pair later collaborated on ‘Mysteries of Love’, which featured in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet.

This marked a fruitful relationship between Cruise and Lynch, with an instrumental version of Cruise’s song ‘The Falling’ serving as Twin Peak’s iconic theme song.

Cruise’s suicide was confirmed by her husband, Edward Grinnan, via Facebook.

“She left this realm on her own terms,” he wrote. “No regrets. She is at peace. I played her Roam during her transition. Now she will roam forever. Rest In Peace, my love, and love to you all.”
