With the original version alongside Tata Vega’s cover of the track.

Melodies International is reissuing Al Johnson’s ‘I’ve Got My Second Wind’, this April.

While ‘I’ve Got My Second Wind’ originally appeared on Al Johnson’s debut solo album Peaceful in 1978, the 12” features a re-recorded version that appears on his 1980 album Back For More.

The same year American singer Tata Vega covered the track, including it on her Givin’ All My Love album on Motown.

Both versions combine elements of soul and disco to create the song’s late-night atmosphere.

‘I’ve Got My Second Wind’ follows Ben UFO’s take on the label’s Melodies Record Club series – our favourite reissue single of 2021.

Pre-order ‘I’ve Got My Second Wind’ here in advance of its 1st April release; check out the artwork and tracklist below.

Tracklist:

1. Tata Vega – (I’ve Got My) Second Wind
