Working with elements of ambient, alongside keyboard improvisations, stuttering production, and vocal experimentation

Loraine James is releasing the self-titled debut under her new “ambient-minded” alias Whatever The Weather, via Ghostly this April.

Working with elements of ambient, Whatever The Weather also sees James drawing on keyboard improvisations, vocal experimentation, gentle hums, skittery electronics, and field recordings.

The album saw James taking a fluid approach to production, self described as “free-flowing, stopping when I felt like I was done.”

Whatever The Weather follows her Reflection LP — one of our favourite albums of 2021.
