Whether collaborating with Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, regularly frequenting Paradise Garage, or conjuring up cartoon DJ robots, Haring’s work was deeply entwined with the music world during the course of his life.

Though Haring died at just 31 years old, he produced art at an eye-watering speed, and as such was hugely prolific.

The exhibition will include more than 85 pieces including large-scale paintings, drawings and sculptures.

Earlier this year, a 12-metre Keith Haring artwork was uncovered in Amsterdam.

Keith Haring exhibition will run from June – November 2019 at Tate Liverpool. Head here for more info.

The first major UK exhibition of artist and activist Keith Haring lands at @tateliverpool in June 2019. Haring emerged as part of the legendary New York art scene of the early 1980s, working with like-minded artists such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The exhibition brings together more than 85 art works including large-scale paintings, drawings and sculptures. Compelled to speak for his generation, his art responds to urgent issues including political dictatorship, racism, homophobia, drug addiction, AIDS awareness and the environment.
