Bringing together collaborators to reminiscence and share stories from across his life and career.

Ennio Morricone is the subject of a new documentary, called Celebrating Ennio Morricone: The Secrets Behind his Genius, presented by CAM Sugar & Decca Records.

Filmed in Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome – nicknamed the “temple of the soundtrack” – the film brings together five collaborators from across his career: organist Giorgio Carnini, guitarist/composer Bruno Battisti D’Amario, saxophonist/arranger Gianni Oddi, pianist/composer Enrico Pieranunzi and vocalist Edda Dell’Orso.

Sharing stories and memories from throughout his life, the group explore his relationship with jazz, his precise compositional process, as well as his love for both music and humanity.

The documentary has been released to coincide with Morricone’s birthday today, 10th November, as well as the posthumous release of Morricone Segreto.
