Recorded in a single take at Abbey Road Studios.
Drummer Yussef Dayes and producer Alfa Mist’s ‘Love Is The Message’ has returned to vinyl with a new pressing by The Vinyl Factory.
With the original 2018 pressing selling for over £200 on Discogs, The Vinyl Factory and Dayes are pressing another edition of the 12″ single for the many fans wanting a copy.
The single-sided black vinyl release features ‘Love Is The Message’, recorded live at Abbey Road Studios in 2018, and will be limited to 1000 copies with artwork from Barka.

The live jam session sees Dayes and Mist play alongside guitarist Mansur Brown and bassist Rocco Palladino in a single take at the prestigious recording studio.
Speaking to FACT at the time of its original release in 2018, Yussef Dayes said: “To be able to record this live session in the legendary Abbey Road studios was a beautiful moment. Growing up in the big smoke, we’re used to recording in basements and bedroom studios, so to get the opportunity to elevate our sounds in this space was something we couldn’t turn down!”
Dayes also released his debut album, Black Classical Music, last Friday (September 8) via Brownswood Recordings. The 19-track album sees features from Chronixx, Masego, Jamilah Barry, Tom Misch, Elijah Fox, Shabaka Hutchings, Miles James, Sheila Maurice Grey, Nathaniel Cross, Theon Cross and the Chineke! Orchestra.
In celebration of the album release, Dayes hosted a pop-up shop in Soho, London. The free event featured instore performances, meet and greets, signings and even a yoga session.
‘Love Is The Message’ is available to purchase now on 180g heavyweight black vinyl via The Vinyl Factory.
