Marking his third solo LP, Neuromantic features contributions from Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kenji Omura, Roxy Music’s Andy Mackay, Tony Mansfield and Phil Manzanera.

Building upon the early proto techno sound of Yellow Magic Orchestra’s 1981 album BGM, Takahashi infused his own “romantic aesthetic” into the record.
