Only Nintendo Switch games are more popular.

Vinyl has risen to become the UK’s second best-selling physical entertainment format, as Complete Music Update reports.

The finding perhaps isn’t much of a surprise given the huge resurgence of vinyl in recent years, with UK vinyl sales having recently reached their highest point in over three decades.

Now, not content with just overtaking CDs, vinyl has become the second best-selling physical entertainment format, beating out revenues from DVDs, and the physical versions of PlayStation 4 and 5 games combined.

Only Nintendo Switch games are more popular, with the format having proven to be a surprising powerhouse with revenues of £88.7 million this year so far, according to figures from The Digital Entertainment and Retail Association.

In comparison, vinyl has brought in £80.9 million so far in 2022, while PlayStation 4 and 5 games have drawn in £79.6 million.
