A noise set recorded in 1994.

Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore’s collaborative album with jazz drummer Tom Surgal called Klangfarbenmelodie.. And The Colorist Strikes Primitiv is getting its first vinyl release, via Glass Modern this November .

According to the label “listeners should not expect the sweet psychedelic pop of his Psychic Hearts album; rather Moore explores his interest in freeform improvisation.

“Moore’s guitar is so distinct, however, that many parts here could be mistaken for a live Sonic Youth recording from the band’s more heady and chaotic ’80s period.”

Klangfarbenmelodie.. And The Colorist Strikes Primitiv was originally available on CD only by Dead C’s Bruce Russel’s label Corpus Hermeticum. This new limited white vinyl release includes liner notes from Russel.

It follows news that Sonic Youth are selling hundreds of rare instruments, records and gear this week.
