The ‘Johnny B. Goode’ singer was an icon.

Chuck Berry, the forefather of rock ‘n roll, has died at age 90. Police in St. Charles county Missouri report that Berry was found unresponsive in his home this afternoon, Saturday, March 18 before being declared deceased just an hour later.

Berry is unquestionably one of the most important figures in music history. Among the first inductees to the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, he will be remembered for songs like ‘Roll Over Beethoven’, ‘Maybellene’ and ‘Rock ‘n Roll Music’.

His family asks for privacy at this time.
