Thirty-two years after the first Elicit was introduced, the MK5 is the first of Rega’s amps to use a DAC circuit designed by the company itself, which allows for greater integration with other products.
With a Class A/B power amplifier circuit, the amp is capable of delivering 105 watts into 8 Ohms.
On top of line, digital, and a moving magnet phono input, the MK5 also includes direct input, record input, and a headphone input.
While the amp features the same FET based pre-amplifier circuit from Rega’s Aethos amp, the MK5 also includes an Alps volume potentiometer designed to “further improve sonic and technical performance.”
Retailing for £2000, the MK5 measures 432 x 82 x 340mm, and weighs 12.5kg.
