Nils Frahm releases surprise EP Encores 1 on 12″

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Nils Frahm has released a new EP called Encores 1 on Erased Tapes.

Encores 1 includes five tracks from the same sessions during which Frahm created his most recent full length album All Melody.

Earlier this year, Frahm took us inside his Berlin studio at Funkhaus where he recorded Encores 1 and All Melody.

“With only twelve out of sixty initial sketches forming All Melody, there was so much more music that needed to be heard,” explains Frahm.

“The idea behind Encores is one we had from before All Melody; to do three releases each with their own distinct musical style and theme, perhaps even as a triple album. But All Melody became larger than itself and took over any initial concepts.”
