This new egg shaped turntable features a platter you can design yourself

The follow-up to OVO’s platterless record player.

A new turntable called the OVO features an egg-shaped platter, which you can customise with your own design.

Created by design company Audio Deva, OVO follows its ATMOS SFERA turntable, which features a platterless design.

The OVO weighs 3kg, with a 10mm anticorodal aluminium base, Pro-Ject tonearm, Ortofon OM – 5E cartridge, Delrin Anti-Resonant feet, and a Delrin Anti-Resonant platter.

Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, for £408 you receive a turntable in one of 99 designs, or for £462, you can use your own design/drawing.

There is one major caveat though: You must have the rights to the image(s) you use on the turnable. According to manufacturers Audio Deva you cannot use “copyrighted or trademarked material unless you have written approval from the holder.”
