Not just for show.

Want to display your album artwork on the wall and have access to the record to play it? Record Roots is the latest innovation to tackle this problem, creating a modular wall display that you can clip together to make expansive tapestries of records.

Not the first brand to offer this – see Art Vinyl and Magic Vinyl for accessible frame alternatives – what sets Record Roots apart is the scale of the hanging frames, which display eight records at a time and can be zipped together in blocks of eight.

So how does it work? Parallel straps sewn into the canvas backing hold the record in place but make it easy to slip each record out when you want to give it a spin. The whole thing is then attached to the wall using what Record Roots promise to be “damage-free self-adhesive velcro”, although an option to use screws is also available.

Reaching its target on Kickstarter within the first day, you can pre-order one and register your interest on the project page here.
