Channelling Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk and Weather Report.

Berlin producer and multi-instrumentalist Max Graef has teamed up with Julius Conrad to release a new LP Ratgrave on Steven Julien aka Funkineven’s Apron Records.

Developing the heavy grooving, fusion-influenced sound of Graef’s 2014 album Rivers of the Red Planet, Ratgrave delves into the esoteric worlds of private press funk and soundtrack-esque exotica, where serpentine Jaco Pastorius-inspired basslines dance with motorik pseudo-Kraftwerk drum patterns.

Dripping in analogue fuzz and Graef’s playful sense of humour, Ratgrave is described by the duo as “electronic P-fusion” and was recorded over three years in several locations.

Ratgrave is out now via Apron Records. Grab your copy here and check out the artwork and tracklist below.
