With an app that allows you to create your own take on the album.

Massive Attack have released a new version of the Fantom app that allows you to remix their iconic album Mezzanine, and crafting your own unique version.

The Fantom 2.0 music app “creates dynamic procedural mixes that can be shared across multiple platforms,” shares the label.

Co-designed by Robert Del Naja, this 2nd iteration of the programme “triggers new mix patches using the stems of classic tracks such as ‘Teardrop’, ‘Angel’and ‘Inertia Creeps’using iPhone sensor functions such as camera, microphone, acceleration and location for sampling, recording and unique playback.”

The computer programme follows Massive Attack’s synthesis of Mezzanine into DNA as well as a version available as coded spray paint earlier this year.
