Crate digging duo team up with video artist Ari Russo for unique audio visual show ‘Cosmic Code’ next week.
In a one-off collaboration curated by Cedric Bardawil and Nick Hadfield of Something in the Attic, the otherworldly sounds of Psychemagik will meet the hypnotic visuals of Ari Russo for a live, improvised performance at London’s Ace Hotel. Expect super rarities – the artists have trawled through thousands of vinyl records as well as VHS tapes, laserdiscs, and cassettes in search of the perfect sample.
Obscure records from the ’70s and ’80s with little or no internet trace will be blended with more familiar sounds to present the timeless music that has inspired Psychemagik. And the visuals are just as unique. Found footage and a live camera capturing video that will be processed in real-time will come together to present a film-like narrative to the carefully selected music.
