The project’s foundations lie in a performance commissioned by the Norwegian gallery Henie Onstad Kunstsenter. Elements from those three sold-out shows formed the basis of the new creation, which was inspired by Robert Wyatt and classical music, and takes its name from a Barbra Streisand musical.
On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever is the first LP made entirely using hardware. He has stated that ‘the joy of making music on actual physical objects and devices makes a lot of sense now. After working on a computer for over 15 years, I don’t think I’ll ever look back.’
The LP is comprised of four tracks, all based on one-take recordings.
On A Clear Day I Can See You Forever follows his 2017 project It’s Alright Between Us As It Is.
