Raising money to support young people, tackle homelessness and end food poverty.

Kano has launched a new interview series called Newham Talks.

The podcast series will also focus on the importance of supporting new talent, Black creative expression, the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, alongside discussions about growing up in the borough.

The eight part series brings together guests from the worlds of music, entertainment, sport, food, and literature – all of whom also hail from the London borough of Newham, like Kano himself.

Newham Talks features Ghetts, Posty, D Double E, Footsie, Christine Ohuruogu, Idris Elba, Joy White, King Cook and Chris Hughton.

“All proceeds (are) going directly to Newham charities supporting young people, tackling homelessness and helping to end food poverty” with funds donated to The Renewal Programme, who will split it between themselves and other Newham-based charities Caritas Anchor House and Bonny Downs Community Association.

Watch the first episode in full above, and check out Joy White’s episode below – ahead of further episodes released on Mondays and Fridays via Kano’s YouTube channel.
