Inspired by NYC’s open-minded early ’80s club scene and London’s current jazz-influenced vanguard, the solo project from the Sons of Kemet, Owiny Sigoma and Kano band drummer also features Arthur Russell collaborator Peter Zummo.

The unique and improvisational influence of trombonist and composer Zummo, who played on cult disco classics like ‘Go Bang’, can be felt across Watermelon Sun from the off-kilter dance floor rhythms of ‘Mr. P.Z.’ to the slower, horn-led loops of ‘iDEATH’.

Watermelon Sun is out 24th November 2017 on Brownswood.
