Layering noise, punk, industrial, experimental electronics, and pop.

Dekmantel is releasing Amsterdam DJ and producer Parrish Smith’s new album — Light, Cruel & Vain — this May.

A mainstay at Dekmantel’s festivals, his eclectic DJ sets incorporate live vocals atop genres including techno, industrial, EBM.

Smith channels this same spirit into his productions. Across Light, Cruel & Vain’s eleven tracks, he layers elements of noise, punk, industrial, experimental electronics, and pop.

Three years in the making, the album sees Smith working with contributing musicians Sofiane Brahmi and Javier Vivancos to create an album of “imperfect music.”

It follows Dekmantel’s release of Interstellar Funk’s Into The Echoone of our favourite albums of March.
