Composers Beatriz Ferreyra and Natasha Barrett are releasing a split album, called Souvenirs Cachés / Innermost, via Persistence of Sound this March.

Ferreyra’s ‘Souvenirs Cachés’ moves through disembodied vocals, growls, drone, and piano, alongside manipulated flute, and percussion from Hernan Gomez.

The album also features her 2003 composition ‘Murmureln’, which combines collaged vocals, and fragmented samples of tango musicians to create “a danceable electroacoustic piece”.

On the flip, Barrett’s ‘Innermost’ piece was composed with abstracted recordings from two community celebration events in Norway, plus electronically treated vocals and marching band samples.

Souvenirs Cachés / Innermost follows Ferreyra’s Huellas Entreveradas album, which was also released on Persistence of Sound.
