Abe primarily recorded the album at his home studio, taking inspiration from Mort Garson, alongside Japanese ambient and environmental music.

“Without any words to speak of, they gave me strength and encouragement. I was feeling kindness and humour through this music, in ways I’d never experienced before,” Abe explains.

Fantasia follows his A Good Time album as part of Tokyo-based band never young beach.
