Yamaha unveils new white Alexa-compatible turntable

With wireless playback and built-in streaming services.

Yamaha has released a white edition of its MusicCast Vinyl 500 turntable.

The MusicCast Vinyl 500 is part of Yamaha’s network audio system, MusicCast, which allows users to control all compatible Yamaha products via an app.

Retailing at £549, the smart turntable includes built-in streaming services, with Wi-Fi, bluetooth and airplay connectivity, as well as Alexa voice control compatibility.

On top of its Wi-Fi capability, the Vinyl 500 features an aluminum platter, an external DC power supply designed to reduce AC interference, and a lightweight tonearm.

The white MusicCast Vinyl 500 follows the piano black Vinyl 500 and the TT-S303 turntables, the company’s first new decks in 30 years.
