Chris Read, DJ, producer and mastermind behind WhoSampled.com, recently delivered a 30-minute workshop at London’s Point Blank Music School as part of a series of events dedicated to the art and science of sampling.

Exploring the context from which music emerges, drawing threads between eras, scenes and records, the workshop traces the role of imitation and citation in the evolution of music, whether through cover versions, interpretations, old school hip-hop sampling or contemporary remix culture.
