Combining gospel with elements of jazz, soul, and funk.

Los Angeles community-based choir The Voices of Creation is releasing a debut album — called How Good It Is — via Day Dreamer this August.

To form the group, leader Jimetta Rose recruited members “based on their interest in healing themselves and others, not necessarily on their musical experience.”

“I believe that every person has their own voice and their own note and that we can use our voices to heal ourselves. That’s the intention behind creating the project,” she says.

Produced by Mario Caldato Jr. and his wife Samantha Caldato, How Good It Is‘ six tracks combine gospel with elements of jazz, soul, and funk.

Pre-order the album from Bandcamp in advance of its 26th August release; check out the artwork and tracklist below.

Tracklist:

1. Let The Sunshine In
2. Spirits Up Above
3. Operation Feed Yourself
