Could this change the way small labels press wax?
A new venture called Vinylised wants to unite record buyers to crowd fund vinyl releases and make it easier for small labels by providing a complete end-to-end service.
Labels can add their catalogue to the site for free. If and when pre-orders from customers reach the target minimum run, Vinylised will take care of all manufacturing, from mastering to pressing. Vinylised also pack and ship all orders, eliminating the need for a distributor.
With the annual Record Store Day rush and the recent bump in pressing prices thanks to factors like Brexit, could this be a game-changer for little labels? Plastician’s Terrorhythm is already on it:
