Official Charts Company has shared that 190,000 vinyl units sold during the week of Record Store Day. Many sales were driven by Record Store Day exclusives from The 1975 and Taylor Swift.

Respectively selling 12,716 and 11,132 copies, The 1975’s Live With The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and Swift’s Folklore – The Long Pond Sessions occupied the second and fourth spots in the UK albums chart last week. This is the first time a Record Store Day exclusive has broken the top 10.

“Congratulations to The 1975, Taylor Swift, and all the artists, labels, and record stores involved in this year’s Record Store Day,” says Megan Page from Record Store Day UK.

“The fact that two of the exclusive releases have made it into the Top 5 of the UK Official Albums Chart is a testament to the enduring appeal of vinyl and the vital role that independent record stores play in championing physical music.”
