Jazz trombonist Ryan Porter releasing album featuring Kamasi Washington on 3xLP

Recorded in Kamasi’s parents’ basement.

West Coast Get Down trombonist Ryan Porter is releasing new album The Optimist on triple vinyl, this March via World Galaxy Records.

The Optimist was created in a tiny basement area of Kamasi’s parent’s house known as “The Shack” between 2008 – 2009.

It features a band including Kamasi on tenor sax, Miles Mosley on upright bass, and Tony Austin on drums.
