West Coast Get Down trombonist Ryan Porter is releasing new album The Optimist on triple vinyl, this March via World Galaxy Records.
The Optimist was created in a tiny basement area of Kamasi’s parent’s house known as “The Shack” between 2008 – 2009.
It features a band including Kamasi on tenor sax, Miles Mosley on upright bass, and Tony Austin on drums.
